School Bus Accident in Brocton

No injuries have been reported after a car skidded out of control and, struck a Brocton Central School bus on Route 20 in the village Thursday morning.  Sheriff's Deputies say the driver of the bus, 42 year-old Laurie Travis of Brocton, was eastbound at about 8 AM when she stopped and put the vehicle's flashing red lights on.  Officers say a second eastbound vehicle, driven by 21 year-old Nicholas Liberatore of Angola, had stopped behind the bus.
However, officers say the operator of another car, 28 year-old Michael Manganiello of Brocton, was apparently distracted by something off the roadway and, unable to stop on the slippery road.  Deputies say Manganiello's car sideswipped Liberatore's vehicle then struck the back end of the bus, which was carrying a 9 and 10 year-old.  No one on the bus was hurt.  Manganiello was ticketed in Brocton Village Court for using speed not reasonable and prudent.
