Falconer man arrested for allegedly shooting-up Heroin in downtown business parking lot with child in the car...

A man from Falconer was arrested late Wednesday afternoon after a Jamestown police officer spotted him preparing... and, shooting up heroin in a downtown parking lot.  In addition... Police Captain Bob Samuelson says 27 year-old Samuel Critzer was doing it in view of a small child inside his car.  Samuelson adds a Falconer woman -- 34 year-old Christina Weed -- who was also in the car... was arrested when she was found in possession of a pain killer she didn't have a prescription for.  Both face criminal possession of controlled substance... and, child endangerment charges.


City police alert residents to fake IRS telephone scam...

The Jamestown Police Department is warning residents about a telephone scam in which the caller says he's an IRS Agent... and, the resident is told they either owe taxes -- or are due a refund.  However... Police Captain Bob Samuelson says the caller then asks for the person's Social Security number.  Samuelson says they've been contacted by a handful of potential victims who say they did not give out their personal information.  Samuelson says that's what they're advising residents to do if they receive such a call.  He adds that you should never give out personal information... like you're Social Security number... even you're address.  If you have any questions... call your local police.
