Ecklund clarifies city possession on dealing with homeless crisis; COI hosts about 100 for homeless "Point in Time" report...
Homeless people are not being "thrown out" of the encampments that have cropped up during the city of Jamestown's homeless crisis. That from Mayor Kim Ecklund... who addressed the matter during Monday night's City Council work session. Ecklund says she wanted to clarify a few points about what was taking place with the first encampment they dealt with a week ago. She says they weren't sure how many people were in the city-owned alleyway, but, they were able to connect four people to services provided by local agencies and non-profits. Ecklund praised the collaboration taking place now with several local non-profits and other organizations taking part in the effort to get an accurate count of the number of homeless people... and, getting them pointed in the right direction for services. She says her office and many of those organizations have been dealing with the homeless issue since she took office... but, it boiled over a few weeks ago when a State of Emergency was declared. She also says the city has received no funding to help with the issue. The money has come from the city's Community Development Block Grant.

RFK, Jr. shows up late to testify in PA ballot case...
Independent Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. showed up too late to testify Tuesday in a court case in Pennsylvania where Democratic activists are trying to bar him from the ballot for president in the premier battleground state. That prompted some testy exchanges between the judge and Kennedy’s lawyer. Lawyers for the two Democratic activists who filed the challenge say Kennedy’s candidacy paperwork states a fake home address — an allegation being aired in other state courts — and falls short of the signature-gathering requirement for third-party candidates.
