City Council won't be voting on Larson resolution, but, will vote on food truck ordinance...
The Jamestown City Council will not be voting on a resolution tonight to bring legal action against retired City Court Judge Fred Larson for taking more than $1,500 in dental insurance benefits they say he owed.  Mayor Kim Ecklund says a resolution of the matter came late last week when Larson paid off the $1,576 that were unpaid.  While Larson said he believe he was entitled to the benefit... Ecklund and members of City Council said he was not entitled to them because he was not a city employee at that time.  The payment negates the need for a resolution put forward to resolve the dispute legally.

City lawmakers will vote tonight on a new resolution to regulate food truck vendors in the city that also protects "brick and mortar" restaurants.  The City Council's Public Safety Committee agreed to a revised ordinance last week that keeps those trucks from encroaching on those establishment eateries.  Committee Chairman Jeff Russell explained the change... noting that it's meant to keep the trucks away from the fronts of downtown restaurants.  City Development Director Crystal Surdyk noted there would be a flat, $300 a year fee to allow each truck to be where they're allowed.  However... Mayor Ecklund says there will be no fees listed in the ordinance itself... because when the fees are changed, the ordinance would have to be changed.  The Jamestown City Council's monthy voting session begins tonight at 7:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall.
