Borrello, Giglio, blast judge's decision not to send Kindt back to jail for violating his parole...
The judge's decision not to send paroled murderer Edward Kindt back to prison for violating his supervised parole is being blasted by two state lawmakers from the region. In a press release today... State Senator George Borrello and Assemblyman Joe Giglio condemned a decision by Administrative Law Judge Michael Marasa presiding over the parole revocation hearing of Kindt to release him back into the community after two serious parole violations. Borrello says -- "I am appalled at the judge’s decision to release rapist and murderer Edward Kindt after he committed two parole violations, including the serious charge of absconding from parole supervision." Giglio says "when he was in prison, Kindt was written up for exposing himself to female corrections officers and for contraband and drug use. He’s been a disaster as a parolee. In November, parole allegedly caught him using drugs. After a couple weeks in the Dutchess County Jail, parole sent him back to his group home." Kindt was convicted of assaulting, raping and killing 39 year-old Penny Brown near Olean in 1999.

Schumer blasts Trump for saying he'll eliminate the cap on SALT deductions after he pushed for them in 2017...
U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer is blasting former President Donald Trump for now saying that he'll eliminate the cap on the State and Local Tax deduction if elected. It's something that both Trump and Congressional Republicans touted when Trump was in office in 2017 as part of his new tax law. The move created a high property tax burden on New Yorkers who paid more than $10,000 a year in in taxes... taking away disposable income for people living in blue states. Mr. Trump was speaking at a campaign stop in Uniondale, Long Island... when he made the promise. However... Schumer says he doesn't believe Trump will follow through once far-right lawmakers have his ear. Those lawmakers pushed for at least capping the deduction because they felt it wasn't fair to their states. Among the lawmakers who touted the capping of the SALT deduction was former Southern Tier Congressman Tom Reed.
