U.S. Attorney Trini Ross has announce that 55-year-old Jack Sherlock of Salamanca was arrested on a criminal complaint for attempted production of child porn... and, attempted coercion and enticement of a minor. Prosecutors say that... back on Nov. 7... Near perfect conditions for Jamestown's Christmas Tree lighting, and holiday parade and festival...
It was a near picture perfect Christmas-time evening last Saturday to light the city of Jamestown's Christmas Tree on Tracy Plaza. Mayor Kim Ecklund counted down the lighting of the nearly 4,000 LED Lights on the 40-foot tall Blue Spruce... which was donated from a King Street property. Ecklund was joined on Tracy Plaza for the lighting by a young friend, Brendan, who was given the honors of throwing the switch. After the lighting of the tree... the annual Christmas Parade stepped off from the Third Street Bridge... and some 100 units marched to City Hall. This year's theme was "The Gingerbread and Candy Land Holiday Parade." There was a huge fireworks display following the parade.

The day started with the annual "Jingle and Mingle Winter Festival" downtown on the plaza with horse-and-carriage rides... kids activities... and a photo booth. The group "Party McFly" played tunes from mid-afternoon until the time for the tree lighting.

City Planning and Development Vince DeJoy says he first learned about it during a recent conversation with JCC President Daniel DeMarte... and, he says the decision by the board was disappointing. DeJoy believes a number of factors played into JCC's decision to pull out of the $2.3-million project.... among them the costs for leasing the space. He says he'll meet this coming week with officials from Empire State Development and the New York Department of State to find out what will happen next. He added that the city developed a $15-million strategic investment plan in case something like this happened. The Graf Building project was one of nine that received final DRI approval from the state in May.
