Hochul touts several financial and policy wins in state's tentative, $254-billion budget plan...
New York Governor Kathy Hochul is touting a number of financial and policy wins in the tentative 2025-26 budget agreement reached with the state legislature... adding "we got it all done." Hochul made the announcement late Monday on the $254-billion spending plan... which is about $2-billion more than her original proposal... but, is lower than the $256-billion... and $259-billion dollar budgets proposed by the Senate and Assembly. However... she said there are warning signs on the horizon with cuts already made in the federal government in Washington, D.C. She adds that -- with the $1.3-billion in cuts so far -- lawmakers may have to come back and do more budget work after the regular session ends in early June. Hochul says she's pleased that the spending plan includes all of the budget and policy priorities she had in her original proposal. A big one is a middle income tax cut... which she says will bring rates to their lowest point in more than 70 years. She adds there's also a tripling of the Child Tax Credit. Hochul adds that her proposed inflation refund checks will be going out to 8.2-million New Yorkers... with $200 going to individuals... and, $400 for families. Final details are still being worked out before budget bills are printed... and, lawmakers vote on them.

Monroe... who is a Jamestown native... will use the funding for a project to add a spray foam insulation... a gutter machine... and, a dump truck to support the demolition business.
