Zilliox says Fredonia School Board approves revised budget that cuts $166,000 from rejected budget in May...
The Fredonia Central School District is preparing for a budget re-vote later this month after district officials came to an agreement on a revised spending plan.  During this week's school board meeting... the panel cut $166,000 from the $38.3-million budget that was defeated in May.  Superintendent Brad Zilliox says that's resulted in a 1.9% increase in the tax levy.  Zilliox adds that increase comes entirely from voters' approval of Proposition 1 of the district's capital improvement project back in December... and, he says that included the projected increase from that approval.  Zilliox says the budget cuts would eliminate two teaching positions -- one at the middle school and one at the high school.  It would also eliminate K-8 summer programming.  If voters don't approve that revised budget, Zilliox says the district will have to operate on a contingent budget that contains no tax levy increase. The Fredonia school budget re-vote will take place on Tues. June 17 from 2 to 9 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.
