City man killed when his motorcycle crashes into a car in Warren Co, Pa's Columbus Township...
A Jamestown man was killed last Sunday night when his motorcycle struck an oncoming car on Route 957 in Warren County's Columbus Township. State Police in Corry, Pa. say 38 year-old James Larson was eastbound on 957 shortly before 9 PM when his bike crossed the crossed the center line and struck an oncoming vehicle. Troopers say Larson was pronounced dead at the scene. A 19 year-old woman was driving the car... which was heavily-damaged. The unidentified woman was taken to Corry Memorial Hospital for treatment of what appeared to be minor injuries.
Three juveniles arrested in Falconer for alleged break-in in early Sept...
Three juveniles under the age of 18 have been arrested for allegedly breaking into a home in Falconer earlier this month... and, stealing items from the house. Ellicott Town Police say they were called to the unidentified location in Falconer back on Sept. 6... and, were told the trio were wearing face masks when they broke into the building... which was occupied at the time. They were later arrested on one count each of Felony second-degree burglary... and, petty larceny. They were each issued appearance tickets for Chautauqua County Family Court at a later date.
Man from Mayville arrested for alleged menacing...
A Mayville man has been arrested for allegedly threatening another person with a knife in front of multiple children in the town of Chautauqua. Sheriff's officers say they were called to the scene about 9:20 p.m. Monday for a person with a weapon complaint. Deputies say they determined that 30 year-old Alexander Latta had menaced the other person in front of the children. Officers arrested Latta for second-degree menacing... and, endangering the welfare of a child... and, he was taken to the county jail pending centralized arraignment.

UPMC Chautauqua Hospital's new president says she's been warmly received... and, supported through the first week in her new position. Tracy Gates brings more than two decades of service in hospital and health care administration... and, took over the reigns from previous president Brian Durniok last week. Gates says she's mainly been making the rounds to meet everyone... but, adds she's had a couple of goals in the beginning... the first ensuring access to health care services, with excellent patient experience... and, what they need to work on. Prior to being appointed president at UMPC Chautauqua... Gates was senior vice-president, chief operating officer, and vice-president of System Integration for Centralus Health... which is a new, integrated delivery network in Upstate New York. While there, she oversaw operations across three hospitals... and, two skilled nursing facilities. Gates says... so far... while many places have had staffing issues... the local hospital does not. She says department heads have noted that "we don't have the problems the hospital's around us (have)." Gates adds that UPMC Chautauqua is part of a 42-hospital network... which helps support staffing... along with ensuring there are enough doctors on staff. At the same times... she does admit there is a shortage in the area of specialty doctors... and, will be moving soon to address those areas. Prior to coming here... Gates helped to lead the integration of the Cayuga Health System and Arnot Health in Central New York.
Man from Falconer arrested following noise complaint and threat to neighbor...
A Falconer man is accused of making unreasonable noise... and, then threatening harm to one of his neighbors, and that person's property. Ellicott town Police say they were called to a complaint of a disorderly person the afternoon of Sept. 3... and, found that 39 year-old William Merecki had caused a disturbance in the neighborhood that led to "unreasonable noise." He then later made the threats to the neighbor. Merecki was arrested for second-degree harassment... and, disordery conduct. He was arraigned at the county jail... and, issued an appearance ticket for Ellicott Town Court.
Ellery man arrested for operating golf cart drunk with youth passenger...
A man from the town of Ellery has been arrested for allegedly driving a golf cart on a public road drunk with a minor riding along with him. Sheriff's officers say a routine patrol spotted 42 year-old Patrick Kent riding the car on a public roadway about 8:30 last Saturday night... and, stopped him Their investigation found that Kent was operating the cart while intoxicated... and, he was charged with DWI... DWI-Leandra's Law... No/or insufficient tail lamps... and, operating an unregistered motor vehicle. He was issued appearance tickets for Ellery Town Court.
