**Breaking**City girl dies after being critically injured in school bus-pedestrian accident near Fletcher School...
A 4-year-old Jamestown school student has died from injuries suffered after being struck by a Panama Central School bus near Fletcher Elementary School.  The news came out in a Facebook post from Panama School Superintendent Emily Harvey late this morning.  She said "it's with deep sorrow that we share news of a heartbreaking incident involving a very young student from the Jamestown City School District, who tragically passed away after being struck by one of our district’s school buses in front of a Jamestown elementary school.  The bus was on the way to drop off one of our students for an out-of-district placement at the time.  Neither the student on the bus nor the driver were injured.  Because this remains an active police investigation, the information we are able to share is limited.  At this time, it appears this was a truly tragic accident."  Harvey adds that "our thoughts are with the student’s family, friends, and classmates, and with the entire Jamestown City School District community."  City police were called to the scene just after 8 AM... when parents were dropping off students at the school.  City police say the girl was treated at the scene... and, rushed to UPMC Chautauqua Hospital... where she later died.  Police are continuing to advise motorists to avoid that area while they and State Police are investigating.  Cole Avenue remains closed in that area as the investigation is continuing.

Ecklund says budget hearing tonight will be mostly on her original proposal...
The Jamestown City Council will hold a public hearing tonight on Mayor Kim Ecklund's proposed, $45.5-million budget for 2026.  The hearing will begin at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers... and, will allow the public the chance to offer their input on the spending plan... which increases taxes by 7.5%.  Ecklund says no amendments were pre-filed by city lawmakers... so her original budget is up for discussion.  She adds, though, that she anticipates at least some proposed amendments from the floor during next Monday night's vote.  Ecklund says the city has just received it's third-quarter sales tax figures... which were good... and, put the city slightly into the black for the year.  However... she's not seeing any reason to change their figures for 2026.  Council will discuss the budget more later... and, prior to voting on the spending plan.  That vote is set for next Monday, Nov. 24 during the regular monthly voting session.  Ecklund made her comments for last weekend's "Community Spotlight" program on the six Media One Radio Group stations.

Borrello says temporary delay on All-Electric mandate is purely political...
New York's ban on natural gas hookups in most new buildings -- seven stories or under -- has been put on hold for now.   This past week... the state agreed to suspend regulations for the implementation of the All-Electric Buildings Act until a ruling on that law is made by an appellate court.  The law was scheduled to take effect on Jan. 1.  Republican State Senator George Borrello calls it only a "temporary" victory after saying he predicted it would happen.  Borrello adds that if Hochul is serious about this pause, she should call a special legislative session to have that law repealed before the end of the year.  He says she wants it tied up in court through next year's election because it would be "a negative for her" in the campaign.
