Jamestown man and woman arrested for child endangerment after being found living in "unsafe and unsanitary" conditions...
A man and woman from Jamestown face contempt and child endangerment charges following an alleged domestic incident at a home on the city's southside Tuesday afternoon. Jamestown police were called to the address shortly after 4 p.m. to check on the well-being of the children after local school officials voiced concerns regarding their welfare. Officers say they investigated... and, found "severely unsafe and unsanitary conditions." During the investigation... police say they also found that both parents had orders of protection against them on behalf of the youngest child. Officers arrested 31 year-old Devin... and, 34 year-old Christine Perez on two counts each of endangering the welfare of a child... and, one count of second-degree criminal contempt. Police say the children were immediately removed from the residence with the help of county Child Protective Services. Both Devin and Christine Perez were taken to the city jail pending arraignment.

The storms that have brought heavy rain and, flooding to the Pacific Northwest... and snow and freezing rain to the Upper Midwest... are moving into our region. That from Forecaster Dan Kelly with the National Weather Service in Buffalo... who says advisories are up now through early Friday across Western New York. Kelly says -- for the most part -- we'll be seeing snow here in the Jamestown-area... with the most on the Chautauqua Ridge. During this weather event... he says that area will see about 10 to 12 inches overall. However... some other parts in the snowbelt areas may see 15 to 16 inches. Due to the above freezing temperatures during the day today... Kelly says we may see a little mixed precipitation at times. He says most of the rain will fall near Lake Erie... which may see 2 to 4 inches of snow overall. In addition to the precipitation... Kelly says we'll see a fair amount of gusty winds late in the day Wednesday... some reaching 35 miles an hour causing some blowing and drifting snow.
Former Jamestown man arrested in North Carolina for alleged involvement in drug trafficking conspiracy run by Joseph Zaso...
A man from Jamestown -- now living in North Carolina -- has been indicted by a federal Grand Jury in Buffalo for narcotics conspiracy and illegal possession drugs. U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced Tuesday that the indictment against 41 year-old Charles Washington charges him with narcotics conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl. Prosecutors say between July of 2016... and, March of 2021... Washington conspired with Joseph Zaso, and others, to sell heroin, fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, crack cocaine, and marijuana in the Olean area. Zaso was previously convicted and is awaiting sentencing. DiGiacomo says Washington was arraigned in the Western District of North Carolina and is being held pending a detention hearing in the Western District of New York. If convicted... he says Washington faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison, and a maximum of life.
North County man arrested on several charges following stolen vehicle arrest in Dunkirk...
A Dunkirk man has been jailed on a slew of charges following a report of a stolen vehicle in the city Monday evening. Dunkirk Police say 47-year-old William Eppinger was seen driving the vehicle on Ruggles Street shortly after 6:30 p.m. When officers tried to pull over Eppinger, he allegedly fled the vehicle and was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit. Police add that he was allegedly found in possession of a quantity of narcotics. Eppinger is being held in the County Jail on charges of second-degree criminal mischief... fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property... second-degree obstruction... second-degree reckless endangerment... seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance... second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia... second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation... leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and others.
Long Island Co. Exec Blakeman announces run for NY Governor...
Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman has announced that he's running for governor... setting up a Republican primary clash with fellow Trump ally Congresswoman Elise Stefanik. Blakeman... who has cast himself as a bulwark against the liberal policies of urban Democrats... criticized Governor Kathy Hochul as a “failure" in an appearance on the Fox News “Fox and Friends” show. He says "I'm running for office to make people more prosperous, to make them safer and to make New Yorkers happy again." Blakeman’s candidacy kicks off what is expected to be a heated Republican contest against Stefanik, a conservative from northern New York who President Donald Trump picked to be his U.N. ambassador. However... he withdraw the nomination over concerns that the slim GOP majority couldn't afford to lose any more House seats.
Girls and Boys Club in Jamestown receives state grant to upgrade it's community center...
The Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys and Girls Club is receiving just over a quarter of a million dollar grant from New York state to renovate and upgrade it's community center. Governor Kathy Hochul says the $260,000 grant is one of 30 being issued statewide among $100-million in NY BRICKS funding to build or renovate community centers. Hochul says the projects -- "promote physical health... mental well-being... and, community connections for families, children and Seniors." Overall... she says the awards from the "Building Recreational Infrastructure for Communities, Kids and Seniors" capital grant program will benefit nearly 400,000 New Yorkers across the state.
