That from Democrat U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand... who says that punch is being inflicted by President Trump's tariff wars... and, the War in Iran. During a Zoom Press Conference Wednesday... Gillibrand said -- even after some of his tariffs were struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court -- the president "doubled-down" on the tariffs... which will increase from 10% to 15% -- which means higher prices for everyone. She adds the president also doubled down on a war the American people "don't like." Gillibrand cited at least one New Yorker... who said his home heating costs have double in recent weeks... and, faces other increased costs because petrolium is used in so many products. In response... Gillibrand says she's proposed a measure to help small businesses recoup money lost from tariffs, and can pass down savings to consumers. She introduced the Small Business Liberation 2.0 Act... that would exempt small businesses from the president's newest tariffs, and would refund at least some of the tariff monies charged to businesses they can pass on to their customers. Since the War in Iran started... Gillibrand says the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded gas in New York state has risen by 44-cents. The U.S. campaign of airstrikes with Israel against Iran is now into it's 13th day.
