NWS says big weather change, with wind, rain and snow to move into region late this afternoon... 
A sharp, arctic cold front will produce some wild weather across Western New York later today.  Meteorologist Liz Jurkowski with the National Weather Service in Buffalo says the front will pass through the region sometime between 4 and 7 p.m. and will affect the evening commute.  Jurkowski says precipitation ahead of the front will start off as a rain/snow mix before eventually changing over to snow... and, that will make for a difficult evening commute.  She says wind gusts between 40 and 50 mph are also expected.  High temperatures today are expected to reach near 50 before the front moves through the area, and drops temperatures below the freezing mark.


Borrello says Kindt to be released at Westfield-area motel today...
State Senator George Borrello is blasting the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision for deciding to release convicted murderer Edward Kindt into a town of Westfield motel.  Borrello issued a statement late Tuesday... indicating that he has learned where Kindt will be released Wednesday.  The Sunset Bay Republican says "I am outraged that the criminal coddling members of the New York State Parole Board have made the decision to release this killer, disregarding the utterly brutal and heinous details of his crime, the trauma of his victim’s family, and with no concern for the innocent members of the public they are putting at tremendous risk."  Kindt was found of second-degree murder in the 1999 rape and strangulation death of Salamanca's Penny Brown when he was 15 years old.  However... because he was a juvenile at the time, he could only be sentenced to 9 years to life behind bars. 


Trio from Westfield arrested on several drug, and weapons possession charges...
Three Westfield residents have been arrested on numerous drug and weapons possession charges after a call to check on the well-being of two children last Sunday night.  Sheriff's officers say they, and Westfield Police, were called to 6136 Ogden Rd. in the town of Westfield shortly after 6 p.m.  During the investigation... officers found materials used to make methamphetamine, and a search warrant was obtained.  In addition to the materials used to make meth... investigators seized a quantity of fentanyl, 6.69 grams of meth... scales and packaging material used in the distribution of narcotics... and, a shotgun.  Two of the people arrested... 53 year-old Julie Warren and 30 year-old Gary Warren lll... were both charged with second-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine... third and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance... second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia... endangering the welfare of a child... and, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.  Deputies say 25 year-old Dana Walsh faces the same charges... except for the criminal possession of a weapon count.  All three were taken to the county jail pending centralized arraignment.


Cattaraugus County man arrested on Child Porn charges...  
A Salamanca man has been arrested for allegedly being found in possession of child pornography.  State Police in Olean say they arrested 61 year-old Myron Bialaszewski on a felony count of possessing a sexual performance by a child.  The Department's Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Cattaraugus County was assisted by the Troop 'A' Computer Crimes Unit... and, conducted an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation... that found Bialaszewski in possession of child porn.  He was issued an appearance ticket for Salamanca City Court next month.


Pa. man arrested for assault after hitting person multiple-times in Westfield...
A North East, Pennsylvania man has been arrested for allegedly hitting another person in the face and head several times during an altercation in the town of Westfield.  Sheriff's Officers were called to the scene for an unwanted person last Saturday night... and, found that 25 year-old Aarien Carvallo had intentionally hit the victim several times.  Carvallo was arrested for third-degree assault.  He was jailed pending centralized arraignment at the county jail.


Lehman honored with proclamation upon retirement as Jamestown's DPW Director...
Last night's Jamestown City Council meeting was the final one for retiring city Public Works Director Jeff Lehman... whos last day is this Friday.  Lehman was honored with a proclamation by Mayor Eddie Sundquist at the beginning of last night's voting session.  Sundquist was not able to be at the meeting, so, City Council President Tony Dolce did the honors, noting that Lehman started with the city in April of 1994... and, will have served just short of 30 years in the position.  Dolce says Lehman helped complete a record level of infrastructure, public works and park facilities, and assisted with starting and rehabilitating the city's riverwalk.  On a personal note... Dolce noted that he and Lehman both started with the city the same year... and, he says it'll be "really strange" to not have Lehman around.  He'll be replaced by long-time DPW Engineer Mark Reitzer... who will become Acting DPW Director... as well as Acting Parks Director.


City man arrested during warrant check on southside...
A Jamestown man has been arrested following a street check late Monday for allegedly failing to appear in court.  City police say officers were conducting the check in the Foote and Prather Avenues area of the city... and, made contact with 23 year-old William Gardner... who tried to walk away from police.  Officers then advised Gardner of the warrant... and, when they tried to take him into custody... he began to pull away... and elude arrest.  He was taken into custody... and, jailed pending arraignment on the bench warrant, and an additional charge of resisting arrest.
