Langworthy says new federal report shows weakness in NYS move away from natural gas...
A new federal report critical of Western New York energy readiness during Winter Storm Elliott in December of 2022 is being highlighted in a new push for an "all-of-the-above" energy strategy.  That was highlighted during a visit by local Congressman Nick Langworthy to the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities Thursday afternoon.  Langworthy says the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission found New York's push to curtail or eliminate the use of nature gas exposed the region to a near catastrophic result -- especially in the Buffalo area.  Buffalo endured at least three consecutive days of blizzard like conditions that led to 47 deaths.  Langworthy says Gov. Kathy Hochul and other Democratic leaders would rather see a "Green New Deal" than help provide the natural gas that heat's most homes in the area... and, powers the BPU's Gas Turbine.  Chautauqua County Executive P-J Wendel agreed with Langworthy... noting that Chautauqua County was the state's birthplace to natural gas with the first ever well in the state.  Langworthy called on the governor and state legislature to lift the state's ban on fracking... which was first instituted several years ago by former Governor Andrew Cuomo.  He also announced that he was part of the effort to reintroduce House bill number-one from last year: the "Energy Choice Act" which he says would stop Democrats from banning natural gas production and use.  Jamestown Mayor Kim Ecklund was also on hand for the event.

Ribbon cut on new Chautauqua Art Gallery & Custom Framing location...
On the occasion of its sixth-anniversary, the Chautauqua Art Gallery became the Chautauqua Art Gallery and Custom Framing Friday... the ribbon was cut.  Owner Leslie Calimeri moved the business from Lakewood to 318 North Main St in Jamestown two years ago. Calimeri says she was able to purchase the former Custom Frame and Glass Shop... which had been across the street in Jamestown for 23 years.  That business had been run by Dan Gates.  Leslie Calimeri says they have hundreds of wood styles to choose from and ‘no limits’ as to what they can frame.  Many dignitaries attended the ribbon cutting, including City Council President Tony Dolce, who told the crowd he’d like to see similar grand openings every day.  Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce President Dan Heitzenrater says this was their fifth ribbon cutting of the year so far, after 75 last year.
