Jamestown Mayor Kim Ecklund joins News Director Terry Frank to discuss her recent State of the City Address... which was meant to "fully-address" many of the day-to-day functions of city government, and what they do. Ecklund says she was able to focus on that moreso after her 2025 State of the City, which was about 98-pages, focused on trying to get the city out of it's recent budget mess. This year's address was about 40-pages, and goes into the city's economy, finances -- including received grant monies and efforts to improve housing, We also discuss the city's efforts to keep Gov. Kathy Hochul's proposal to give small and larger cities in NYS receive another 100-million in Temporary Municipal Aid... with Jamestown receiving about 1-million more. She says that would bring the city to about 1.6-million in total state aid. We also discuss moving the process along with finding a new police chief. She says city council has to first approve the elimination of the Public Safety Director/Police Chief position in the charter to make it just the Police Chief, with a separate Fire Chief. We also discuss the upcoming "Turn the River Green" Program for St. Patrick's Day on Saturday, March 14... and, the annual Easter Egg Hunt at the end of March.
