Wendel 00:00:00 00:00:00 News Director Terry Frank welcomes back Chautauqua County Executive P.J. Wendel for his monthly program to discuss three topics. However... one stands out above the others after the county legislature recently approved moving ahead with moving most south count offices to the Lynn Building... which is being purchased by East Third Ventures from the Lynn family. He says it will be a better location because the building is in good shape... and, near the county's new transportation hub... which will be important to many of the people coming to those offices. In response to concerns by the Infinity Visual and Performing Arts, and Chautauqua Striders programs... which now lease space in the Lynn Building... Wendel says neither probation nor mental health services will be relocated there. Both will remain where they are currently located. Among the offices moving to the Lynn Building is the Dept. of Motor Vehicles... which is currently located on the city's westside. In addition... we talk with the executive about withdrawl of a resolution to take 2.8-million from undesignated fund balance to pay added Safety Net costs. However... some other savings were found, and the costs didn't come in much higher than originally expected. We also discuss the county being rejected in it's latest effort to get Essential Air Service back to the Jamestown Airport. Wendel says they plan to try and apply again to the U.S. Dept. of Transportation. Copy episode link
