This week... News Director Terry Frank airs our final election preview with local Congressman Nick Langworthy. Speaking from his Jamestown office... the Buffalo-area Republican says he appreciates the voters confidence in giving him two-terms in the U.S. House of Representatives, and feels there's more to do. As a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, he believes the next two years will be critical to a number of areas... and, he will have the seniority to make a difference. He highlighted earlier that day to a 1-million Environmental Protection Agency grant he was able to obtain for the city of Jamestown to get the ball rolling on cleaning up a brownfield site on Harrison Street -- near the Chadakoin River. As for affordability... Langworthy says we've seen high inflation for the past 5 to 6 years. He says it started with COVID where trillions of dollars in federal spending was sent out to people, states and local government. He believes tax credits for certain things -- like childcare -- and tax cuts on income and tips. As for AI and data centers... he believes there needs to be regulation by Congress... but, siting of data centers needs to remain local... and, not handed over to states like New York.
